Robert Benincasa is a senior producer, investigations for National Public Radio in Washington, DC. His current work includes data acquisition and analysis for the NPR investigations unit as well as field reporting for NPR radio and web stories.
He served on teams that have won numerous journalism honors, including the John Foster Peabody and Edward R. Murrow awards and Investigative Reporters and Editors awards.
His recent work includes an IRE Award-winning analysis of heat-related worker deaths and stories about corporate business practices that affect owners of mobile homes.
Benincasa formerly taught data journalism and investigative reporting for Georgetown University’s Master of Professional Studies program.
Prior to joining NPR in 2008, Benincasa worked as a database and regional editor for Gannett’s Washington bureau and staff writer for the Burlington Free Press in Burlington, Vermont.
